Truckers use special GPS maps that plan their routes along roads with no height or weight restrictions. Tractor trailers must fit under overpasses, cannot be too heavy to cross bridges and must be able to make wide turns. The map below shows the routes both cars and big rigs can take between Tallahassee, Florida and Dodge City, Kansas. In the book Atlas the Trucker Dog, Trucker Joe drives the dark blue route.
